You NEED to Add This Spice in Your Life!
This past Friday I was thinking of the perfect “Friday Night” dinner…
Homemade…MAC N CHEESE.
I wanted to add a little bit of a twist to the dish, and I was a little nervous if John Zach would like it but he said it was his favorite mac and cheese ever! He said he would eat it 3 days a week every week and never get sick of it…so I just HAD to share this!
Here is my Spicy Mac N Cheese:
In a cast iron skillet (of whatever skillet you have, Zach just loves cast iron skillets so that all we have haha) –
-Melt 3 tablespoons of butter
-In a small bowl on the side mix together 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs, 2 tablespoons of parmesan cheese and take one spoonful of the melted butter in your skillet and add it to the breadcrumb mixture. Set aside.
-In your hot skillet add 1/4 cup flour and mix it with the butter.
-Add 3 cups of milk, stir together.
-Add in 2 cups of elbow macaroni noodles and let cook until al dente.
-When noodles are cooked, remove skillet from heat and add:
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups of cheddar cheese
- 2 jalapeños finely chopped
(Mix ingredients well together)
-When ingredients are all mixed, pour the breadcrumb mixture all over the top of the mac n cheese
-To top off this dish squirt some sriracha on top and ENJOY!!!!
