February Fun

I don't know about you, but the fact the tomorrow is the 1st day of March is really hitting me hard.
I feel like I don't even remember December and January. And I don't know where February has gone but here we are. The last day.

This month has been really crazy though, I feel like my life is flashing before my eyes!
This month Juniper really started to find her confidence and walk! And now thats all she does, and its the weirdest feeling! I'm just able to set her down and she will just walk anywhere and everywhere. I'm the one that needs to follow her around and keep up! Its been a huge game-changer and also feels like a really big step into toddler-hood, which, to be honest, I have been pretty terrified about!
I'm feeling extra grateful these days that each day is a new one.

A pretty good picture of what life with Junie looks like now is just her walking back and forth throughout our house, babbling God knows what all day, and laughing intermittently and wha…

Lets Have A Muffin And Talk

As I made muffins this afternoon, I was thinking about how many times that I have met with a friend at a coffee shop with a coffee on the table and a muffin in my hand.

There's something about muffins. Especially when they are warm. God bless the people who ask if you want the muffin warmed up when you order one. I have had so many joyful, laughter-filled, serious, heart-to-heart conversations with dear people in my life over coffee and muffins.
So, maybe lets you and I have a conversation today. Maybe, wherever you are, you can sit with me at my table and have a muffin. I'll make you coffee, although I can't promise that it will be as perfect as a coffee from your favorite coffee shop. But come sit with me at my table, I'd love to have you.

If you were at my table today, here is what I'd say...

Today was slow moving.
My mom was here with me for a few days and today she left. Whenever she visits, its like I get a pep in my step and I go to all these places and ch…

The Taco Skillet That Turns Any Meal Into Deliciousness!

Hey everyone!

Last night I shared with you all my taco salad recipe, and I wanted to share it on here for you because honestly, you can add this mixture to anything and create a great meal.
And its so diverse, you can figure out what you like best as well. Maybe you have a favorite taco seasoning: GO FOR IT!
However you decide to make this recipe your own, I'm all for it.

What I love most about posting and sharing these recipes with you is the potential they bring to become your own, the way you want them!
A lot of the recipes I share on here are based on ones I have used from other people, and then tweaked a little to my liking, and I hope that you all can get adventurous with your meals enough to do that too :)

So the main focus of this post is to share with you the ingredients I use to make the ground turkey/beef base. And then you can turn it into a taco salad, or you can stuff it in a baked sweet potato (which I mentioned on Instagram last night) for a healthier option. You…

My Very Favorite Chili!

Okay, here it is!

I have made and tried lots of different chilis and this is by far my favorite!
Its nice and chunky, uses ground turkey, and has a great kick to it!

Chili is so fun because you can really make it your own. You can take things out or add and it doesn't ruin the dish!

This recipe is from Ambitious Kitchen  - This chili has corn in it which I love, and instead of the 2 cans of red kidney beans, I like to use 1 can of kidney beans and 1 can of black beans, and of course I add some cheese and avocado slices on top to finish it off!

I hope you guys love this as much as I do, it has become my go-to for chili, and I hope it becomes yours too :)

Seeking What is Good for Your Husband

I have a confession - Sometimes I intentionally start fights with my husband.

It’s not that I enjoy fighting and it’s not that he has particularly done something to deserve an argumentative wife at the end of the day, it’s that I am prideful. Prideful because I think that the work that I am doing as a stay-at-home mom is harder than the work that my husband is doing to provide the sole income for our family. Prideful because I want all of the sympathy of staying home all day with a fussy, teething baby. Prideful because I want all of the recognition and praise because there is a homemade meal on the table with the baby asleep in her bed.
But I am forgetting a couple of things - the living room is a mess, the dishes are piled over, and the laundry is weeks overdue. And this is where my mind takes this tangled web of lies and Satan is the ringleader. This is where I put on my boxing gloves waiting at the door for my husband to walk in so I can take the first punch, blindsiding him.
