The Taco Skillet That Turns Any Meal Into Deliciousness!

Hey everyone!

Last night I shared with you all my taco salad recipe, and I wanted to share it on here for you because honestly, you can add this mixture to anything and create a great meal.
And its so diverse, you can figure out what you like best as well. Maybe you have a favorite taco seasoning: GO FOR IT!
However you decide to make this recipe your own, I'm all for it.

What I love most about posting and sharing these recipes with you is the potential they bring to become your own, the way you want them!
A lot of the recipes I share on here are based on ones I have used from other people, and then tweaked a little to my liking, and I hope that you all can get adventurous with your meals enough to do that too :)

So the main focus of this post is to share with you the ingredients I use to make the ground turkey/beef base. And then you can turn it into a taco salad, or you can stuff it in a baked sweet potato (which I mentioned on Instagram last night) for a healthier option. You can use this for quesadilla, just plain tacos, enchiladas, burritos, whatever!!

This meal is so quick and its a staple recipe in our house. I always have the ingredients for this recipe stocked up just in case I have a busy day or I'm not in the mood to make something new and fancy.

I hope this turns into your own specialty, a staple that you cant turn away from :)

  • 1 packet of ground turkey or ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of your favorite taco seasoning (use more according to your desired taste)
  • 1/2 cup of salsa (or more according to your desired taste)**
  • 1 can of black beans, drained
  • 1 can of sweet corn, drained
**Salsa is totally option, just depending on whether you like salsa and spicy taco salad :)

  1.  Add diced onions and garlic to an oiled pan, let cook on medium heat until onions are transparent.
  2. Add in your ground turkey or beef and cook until there is no pink in the meat.
  3. Add in your taco seasoning, stir, then the salsa if you desire to add it.
  4. Add the black beans and corn.
  5. Check if the mixture has your desired taste, add more taco seasoning if you feel like you need to at this point.
  6. Ready to serve!!

For A Taco Salad

Time to add all the things!!
First, start off with a layer of chopped romaine lettuce, scoop in your desired amount of the meat, corn, and beans mixture, sprinkle in your favorite chip, these are my favorite. Sprinkle on your cheese, a spoonful of avocado and you are set!!

For A Stuffed Sweet Potato

Bake sweet potatoes at 425℉ for 45-50 minutes.
When finished baking, let the sweet potatoes cool slightly, then slice down the middle, and stuff the turkey, bean, and corn mixture inside the potato!
Top with cheese and avocado slices for a healthy dinner!!

Thats all! Thanks for following along :)
Hope you had a great Thursday!!!!
